Q. What is a Virtual Private Server?
A. Virtual Private Servers are the most advanced step in server virtualization technology. They are used to partition a single physical server into many (as many as 1000) isolated virtual private servers. Each virtual privat server looks and behaves exactly like a real networked server system, complete with its own set of init scripts, users, processes, filesystems, etc.
Q. Why do I want a virtual private server (VPS)?
A. Virtual private server provides all the benefits of having your very own server with none of the drawbacks. We take a very powerful server and segment it into many virtual servers. Unlike shared hosting which stores hundreds of users in the same directory, the data within your VPS cannot be accessed by other users on the same physical server.
For added stability, VPS technology completely isolates each VPS, or 'slice' with it's own disk space, and network space. Just like a dedicated server, each VPS has it's own independent operating system with isolated instances of all installed software. A crashed application in another customer's VPS has no effect on your VPS.
Q. What are the specifications for the VPS servers?
A. The VPS server is immensely powerful, meaning that you can burst to incredible speeds at a fraction of the cost of a dedicated server. The typical specification is as follows:

- 2GB RAM
- 4 x 143GB HDD (1GB Swap)
Q. What Applications could be run within the Virtual Private Server?
A. Most of applications can be installed within of the Virtual Private Server without any modifications. Our customers are using Oracle, DB/2, Weblogic, Websphere and other commerical applications quite succesfully. Applications and services do not have to be aware of Virtuozzo. However, direct access to hardware is not available.
Q. Can I install my preferred control panel?
A. You can install any control panel which is compatible with the guest operating system.
Q. What is Virtuozzo Power Panel?
A. The Virtuozzo PowerPanel allows you to perform VPS related administration like reboots. The PowerPanel is provided in addition to any control panel you choose. If you choose Plesk, then your control panel and the Power Panel are integrated.
Q. Do I have root access?
A. Yes. You have full administrative control over you hosting. You can configure your server at root level and even reboot your VPS. Your operating system is your own secure environment.
Q. How do i login to my VPS server?
A. You have 2 options, either SSH via hostname/ip address, or the web based control panel (https://[ipaddress or hostname]:4643).
Q. Can I setup my own name servers?
A. Yes, you can install BIND and setup your VPS as a name server.
Q. How many Virtual Private Servers are located on one physical server?
A. We only allow 30 Virtual Private Servers on one physical server.
Q. How do I change system time or time zone in a VPS?
A. You cannot change system time in a VPS because all VPSes on the hardware node have the same system time. However, it is possible to change the default system time zone inside a VPS, for example, by replacing /etc/localtime with the file from /usr/share/zoneinfo which contains a description of your time zone.
Q. How file back ups are done?
A. Each VPS is backed up to an external NAS (network-attached storage).
Q. How often will you perform backup?
A. Backups are performed on a daily basis.
Q. Can I request to restore my system settings?
A. Yes, but this may incur charges. Kindly consult sales@dedicatedvps.com for details.
Q. What if I need more space/bandwidth? Can I upgrade?
A. You may purchase a few package and combine them into one account.
Q. If I want to upgrade my VPS, how long will it be down?
A. Yes, there will be an estimated downtime of 5 minutes for rebooting the VPS. This is to ensure the new changes applied properly to the VPS.
Q. How do I terminate my account?
A. Please email to support@dedicatedvps.com to request on termination. Only written termination from authorized personal is accepted.
Q. Will you terminate my VPS account?
A. Your VPS account will be terminated automatically if we are unable to receive payment from you after 3 days of your expiry date.

Q. What do I need to do to set up an account?
A. You’ll need to place order via our website, then submit payment. Once we received the payment, we will set up the VPS account for you within 24 hours.
Q. How long does it take to set up my VPS?
A. Account will be set up within 24 hours upon receiving payment.
Q. Is there money back guarantee?
A. Yes, there is a 30-day money back guarantee.
Q. How the monthly, quarterly or yearly payment is done?
A. Upon your first sign up, you will inform us on the payment interval that you preferred. Our credit card payment gateway (Worldpay) will auto debit to your credit card as per the interval specified.
Q. Which payment interval is the best?
A. We encourage yearly payment interval as it is cost effective (One time set up fee of USD20.00 is waived). Moreover, you do not need to worry about suspension of account due to none payment.
Q. What will happen if my credit card is no longer valid or exceeded monthly limits?
A. The payment will be debited to your credit card as per the interval stated. If it fails to debit, our account personal will inform you and you’ll need to provide proceed the payment via other credit card. If payment is not received within 3 days, your account will be suspended.
